Introducing the Field https://marchforsciencesf.com/blog/index.php/2017/04/27/introducing-the-field/ Thu, 27 Apr 2017 22:47:26 +0000 https://marchforsciencesf.com/blog/?p=202 You marched on April 22, 2017. Let’s keep marching.

Participate in one of today’s initiatives from the March for Science’s week of action.

We’re introducing a new way to enhance science communication.

The People’s Science & one of our very own organizers, Stephanie Fine Sasse, brings you The Field, a new resource that directly connects scientists with the public. On the Field, researchers & laboratory groups can explain their amazing research, connect with other researchers, & share their individual stories/updates. The Field also allows the public to feed their curiosity & learn about current research through direct connections to the scientists conducting the work!

The hundreds of Marches for Science around the world were just our first steps. Today is the first day of our Week of Action.

Today: Science Engages.

Many of the cities that marched are transforming into permanent Satellites of the March for Science network. If you marched with us in San Francisco, join our movement and encourage your friends to do the same!

Accessibility Accommodations at the March For Science – San Francisco https://marchforsciencesf.com/blog/index.php/2017/04/22/accessibility-accommodations-at-the-march-for-science-san-francisco/ Sat, 22 Apr 2017 00:03:49 +0000 https://marchforsciencesf.com/blog/?p=166 Rally attendees requiring special accommodations are encouraged to make use of the disabled access area at Justin Herman Plaza.  This area will be barricaded off to the right-hand side of the main stage (when facing the stage).  This area will have ramp access to the bank of disabled-access portable toilets lining the plaza.  Attendees are allowed to bring their own seating accommodations, but please know that space is first-come, first-serve.  March for Science – San Francisco will also be able to provide a limited number of folding chairs upon request, but these too will be first-come, first-serve.  Persons requiring access to this special accommodations area can find any volunteer and ask to be directed to the Operations Tent for assistance.  Additionally, the March for Science-SF will provide two ASL interpreters on-stage during the rally at Justin Herman Plaza.
