We are working on securing the permits for the March. There will be three parts:

  1. Rally: Headline speakers will address the challenges facing science and scientists today and the impact on society, this will launch the march (location to be announced soon)
  2. March: 1-2 mile walk through downtown San Francisco with options for groups to march together, sharing messages.
  3. Celebrate Science at the Earth Day Festival: the March will end at the annual Earth Day event at the Civic Center Plaza (see below)

As soon as the permits are secured, we will be able to announce the Rally location. Stay tuned!

Hard at Work

As a not-for-profit, volunteer-led effort, the March for Science relies on a network of enthusiastic and dedicated individuals. We are elated to say that we have a team of more than 100 volunteers working tirelessly to make the San Francisco March a success! With the help of our fiscal sponsor, Sigma Xi and the Hewlett Foundation we have raised over $70K towards making this day happen! We also have new merchandise, posters, social media campaigns, & pre- and post-march events in the works! Stay tuned on our website and social media pages for upcoming announcements!. Your Contribution Matters

Your support is vital to the mission of the March for Science, and each contribution strengthens the movement’s capacity to effectively advocate for the role of science in public life today and in the future. With the proposed cuts to scientific funding, it is more vital than ever that we bring science to the forefront.
